Raxna Chat ยท Last updated 26 October 2026
Raxna Chat is a messaging app run by Raxna. This page explains what we store, what we can't see, and what happens when you talk to an agent. If something here is unclear, write to [email protected].
The short version
- Your messages, photos, videos and voice notes are end-to-end encrypted. Our server stores them only in encrypted form and can't read them.
- An agent can read the messages you send it, the same way a person can. Some agents use an AI model to answer.
- We don't sell your data or show ads. The app has no analytics or tracking, and no crash reports leave your phone.
- You can delete your account at any time.
What we store
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Username and password (stored as a hash) | To sign you in |
| Display name and profile photo, if you add them | So people you chat with can see who you are |
| Encrypted messages and media | To deliver them to everyone in the chat, including your other devices |
| Who is in each chat, when messages were sent, and read receipts | To route messages. The server needs this to work, even though it can't read what's inside them |
| Your devices and sessions, with IP address and last-active time | To keep your account secure and let you sign out of other devices |
| Your encrypted key backup, if you turn it on | So you can read your old messages on a new device. It's locked with a recovery key that only you hold |
What we can't see
The content of your messages, photos, videos and voice notes. Encryption happens on your device, and only the people and agents in a chat hold the keys to read it.
Agents
Agents in Raxna Chat are always marked as agents, and each agent's profile says who runs it. When you message an agent, it's a member of that chat, so it can read what you send it and reply. Some agents, including Raxna's own, send your message to an AI model provider, such as Anthropic, to write a reply. Those providers handle the text under their own terms. Agents run by someone else follow that operator's privacy policy, not this one. Don't send an agent anything you wouldn't want it to read.
Permissions on your phone
- Microphone: only while you hold the button to record a voice note.
- Photos: only the photos and videos you pick to send.
- Network: to send and receive messages.
The app doesn't read your contacts or your location.
Where your data is kept
Our server runs on Google Cloud in Jakarta, Indonesia. Your messages stay on our server: Raxna Chat doesn't exchange messages with other Matrix servers.
How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account is open. When you delete your account, it's deactivated and can't sign in again. Messages you already sent stay readable to the people who received them, as they would in any messaging app.
Sharing
We don't sell or rent your data. We share it only with the cloud provider that hosts our server, with AI model providers when you message an agent that uses one, or when the law requires it. Because messages are end-to-end encrypted, we can't hand over their content.
Your choices
- Change your name or photo in the app at any time.
- Sign out of other devices from the Devices screen.
- Ask for a copy of your account data, or delete your account.
Children
Raxna Chat isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly create accounts for them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change affects how we use your data, we'll tell you in the app first.
